Ordet is really a good play and a well-directed film, yet it only made me crave for more Buñuel immediately! thank god, I'm still an atheist.

On the other hand, I also remember that I liked Graham Greene's The End of Affair -novel, not the 1999 film (as a similar subject). Personally, it was much better than the text of Ordet. And Ordet, though a good film itself, is way behind Day of Wrath, Joan of Arc and even Vampyr.

I am an Antitheist Agnostic and I consider Ordet one of the great cinematic achievements beyond 1950.

I am 76 and a stalwart atheist, as I have been all my life. I think it is one of the best films I have ever seen.
