Steakhouses in Texas...

It's been a long time, but recall first learning of 'the story' while eating out at a chain of restaurants in the major Texas cities that played off the story. They had large portraits in the entry lobby and a brief synopsis of the events. They even had a girl on the half hour get on a red swing that was above the bar. Nice ambiance of the era and it was funny to be enjoying a steak while imagining Stanford White enjoying the 'aesthetic appeal'.

Yes, I remember this. I was about ten years old when we went there. Even though I'm a guy they let me take a ride on the swing. I remember the ropes to the swing being really long and it seemed that you could get pretty high.

I did a quick check and found them still going. http://www.theoldsanfrancisco.com in San Antonio, 40 years in the same place. No reference to Evelyn Nesbitt though.

I wonder if the swing was taken down because they don't show that.
