The battle on Buchanan's Lawn.

Ever since I first saw Creature With the Atom Brain I wondered about the fight between police and soldiers and Buchanan's zombies on Buchanan's lawn.

Was each shot in that fight scene set up by the directer and cameraman without any cosideration of the other shots in the fight scene?

Or was the fight scene carefully choreographed so that there was continuity between the various shots?

I suspect the former, but I wonder if anyone has studied the fight scene and can say for certain?
