Bela Lugosi was put to good use in this

Bela Lugosi was wasted in movies like The Black Sleep. Ed at least put him to good use in Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 from Outer Space. In Bride of the Monster he gave a great performance. In Plan 9 he even got a chance to act. Even though he was in only a little bit of footage, he was able to show emotion and look sad. I still remember him in the scene at the cemetery and in front of the house. Bela's short performance was very good in that. In The Black Sleep, they took a great actor and they made him stand there like an idiot. Didn't even give him a single line. At least he was able to act in Plan 9. In The Black Sleep he just stands there. I got pissed off watching it because it was such a waste of good actors. They didn't even give Lon Chaney Jr. any lines. They made him grunt and walk around like a big dumb oaf. They could've got any old actor to play the parts Chaney and Lugosi played in that. Lugosi made a lot of stupid movies in his career that wasted him and didn't give him a chance to show his talents as a great actor. Let's also not forget Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla. Oh, brother. People that think his movies with Ed were his worst should really check out that movie.
