Anyone wish this had actually been shot in Vermont?

I really love the Inn. I love its festive interiors. I love the train scene when they sing "Snow." And I love when Bing and Rosemary share a sammy by an open hearth during her insomnia. It's always strange to me that this is all shot in sunny Hollywood, 3000 miles from "America's Winter Playground." I love visiting film locations, but this is one that never existed in the first place. Oh well, that's the Dream factory for you.

I do. I can also say the same for 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' (1954) which was also shot on a soundstage in Hollywood and boy can you tell! The money the studio saved was spent on their other project 'Brigadoon' (1954). Seven Brides became the big hit while the Gene Kelly's vehicle (which was going to be shot on location if not for the horrid weather) lost money.

I don't; the awesome outdoor sets are part of the movie's charm.

I love the dreamlike artificiality of it.
