Egg burning Scene in the first nest . . .


Would you say that Ripley's egg burning scene in "Aliens" was an homage to this scene? I think it's also interesting that a FEMALE HUMAN gives the order for burning/does the burning in both movies. It's as though males really don't understand what's going on INSIDE the nest, as it's a FEMALE place. Interesting.

I agree. The Dr. Pat Medford character is a smart woman who is not intimidated by the men. This is rare in movies of this period & very like Ripley of the Alien series.

I'd say that is a valid theory.
I also believe that the idea of Newt was inspired by the little girl in this movie.
