Im a woman and I was rooting for Tony to get away with it. Not because I believe Grace Kelly deserved death for the affair but because I just love how Ray Milland plays Tony. To me, he's the only entertaining character. Another poster described him as "delightfully evil" and I couldn't agree more. My favorite scene of the whole movie is when he first has Swann come over and lays out his plan. Just played to perfection. Ray Milland's character always reminded me of my own father a bit, his expressions and personality that is. So amiable yet so calculating.

In the "remake" The Perfect Murder I also rooted a bit for Michael Douglas to get away with it. Again, not because I believe the wife deserved that particular punishment but maybe because I found MD's character more appealing and the plan seemed fool-proof. Real life would be a different matter, but these movies are just good fun.
