Good flick.

TV served this up today. I don't know anybody in it. But I really appreciated the small cast, the bottled nature of the story, and the fairly direct conflict. Ended up pretty engaging. I felt a lot of the themes here were spun upon in later films like The Great Escape. It was nicely pulpy. Haven't watched many prison set Westerns, but I feel the genre is a good twist on an old staple. The notion of the disgraced lawman still being a good lawman in the klink was pretty good. Sexy leading lady who was there for some reason. And none of the usual early western cheese. And some good stunt work too.
