kind of like african queen....

like watching african queen, only with 6 against the river instead of 2 against the river. the "special effects" are a little dated compared to today's standard; the banter between the mercenary bandits and the gringos is pretty inane, but the "exotic location" must have made it exciting to watch. has a few more twists and bumps than african queen story, but not one of Ford's better flicks. He made Plunder of the Sun the same year... watch that one instead. are there mountain lions in Honduras? A Sheridan did mostly TV episodes after this. This one was part of a two-pack from TCM discount bargain bin /ksf-2

I enjoyed this film and watch it from time to time. It is a very different part for Ford, as he doesn't seem to have played this very driven type of action man role before or since. The colour and photography are beautiful and it moves along at a good pace. I too was skeptical about mountain lions in Honduras but, apparently, they are the big cat with the largest territory and do actually live in Honduras. Worth seeing for Jacques Tourneur completists and Ford fans like me.

It's a matinee B-movie version of that. But I remember it being okayish.
