What a script!

* I read the book years ago and I remember it fondly after two decades.

* It really happens rarely but I'm not going to forget this movie too after decades.

* I have almost completed reading every word written on the pages related to this movie on this web-site and I'm really sorry to note that yet I have not come across a word of praise for a great screen play/script/dialogues of this really fine movie! One sample of it, here:
"Love is a state of confusion in which the victim can not distinguish between spiritual aspiration, carnal desire, and pride of ownership. "

What a writing!

* The most heart wrenching scene in the movie is in that cheap bar where Henry finds Marie drunk with his lover Bebe dancing with another woman and she scathingly insults Henry for him loving her and being whatever he is!

* The coloured dancer (Aicha ?) who is constantly in fight with one of her colligue seems to me like a person of Indian origin due to a dot on her forehead, Am I mistaken?

* I really recommend reading quotes of Gabor on her page on IMDB to all, worth a visit!

* Jose Ferrer is great in the lead role. In fact, he plays two roles: as the painter Toulouse-Lautrec, and the painter's father--two great performances in one.

I too read the quotes from the movie on IMDB and am amazed, tried to look up script, unsuccessfully. Brilliant writing.
