Kirk Douglas at his best

I loved the way he emptied Virginia Mayo's rifle in the barn.
That was classic Hollywood.

"I loves ya, honey. That's why I pretend ya hate me".

My favorite scene of his in Along the Great Divide is when his character explains the death of his Father and its significant. His emotions were to the core during this scene. Kirk Douglas has always been great at delivering intense emotions of his characters he played.

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".

Douglas was excellent in this. Under the psychological/emotional conditions, he did a great job restraining himself and not going hysterical like he sometimes did in other movies. It was always just the right amount.
