How funny Jimmy Damaret is in "The Golf Game", marking him as the very first celebrity to play himself on the show (oy, if Arnaz and company hadn't overdone this gimmick, but that's been covered ...).

When I was a child, I thought it was an actor portraying a famous golfer. I didn't know anything about golf, and because Demaret is so natural, I figured it couldn't be a real sports pro.

I watched this ep last night, then looked up Demaret. Turns out he was quite the comedian who also performed on stage. Small wonder given how polished he is in this very funny offering.

Too bad Arnaz couldn't find a professional candy maker who was also a comedian!!

Apparently, Demaret also appeared on The Lucy Show in 1964...something I would have zero interest in viewing.

Yes he seemed like a natural in front of the camera. Sometimes I feel bad for celebrities (non-actors) who portray themselves. They often have a hard time being "themselves" on screen.
