Implausible, maddening but still worthy

I found much of this hard to watch; it just stretches credulity a little too far. It doesn't help that the actress is a little shrill, not really possessing the chops to pull off the crazy. Mitchum of course is solid but his character, even considering his head injury, is simply an idiot. But I did watch it all the way to the end so that's saying something.
