Good movie

The problem with this movie is Howard Duff's character is such a wimp - not believing Ida Lupino at any turn despite his obvious affection for her. He only believes her after a (previously drunk) male stranger tells him what he saw. Duff's character is a misogynist. Yes, it was made in 1950 but I can't imagine people in 1950 saying 'really? you're just gonna not believe a word she says despite your feeling that she's got troubles and your increasing love for her?' Ida's a wonderful actress and this is another great performance by her but the story did not age well. Stephen McNally is a great creep too.
