Kip, a gay character?

I assume that Kip is gay. He works in musicals and he seems to be fag to Amanda's hag. Adam says that Kip wouldn't have very far to go to become a woman.

I think Kip was a close to a gay character as movies would permit in 1949.

You can also see it in many of the characters played by Clifton Webb and George Sanders in other movies of that era.

Kip is totally Amanda's sassy gay friend and Adam is jealous of their bond.

According to the book "The Celluloid Closet", a study of gay characters in movies, Kip is gay. :)

As gay as possible in 1940s Hollywood film.

I've always seen Kip as Cukor's alter-ego, vis-a-vis his own relationship with Tracy and Hepburn.
