can you help me list other films with phones so important

I'm trying to write a paper on films where the phone practically becomes a character. If it weren't for phones the story wouldn't happen. The easy ones are Dial M for Murder and Sorry, Wrong Number. But there are others like His Girl Friday or even new films like Vantage Point or Phonebooth.

Can you help me think of others? I'm trying to look at how technology, specifically the phone, can move a story line.
Thanks

One that occurs to me is "The Boys in the Band" directed by William Friedkin. The phone becomes a major character.

Ancient thread, but anyway: Black Christmas (1974)

"Dial M for Murder"

"Once Upon a Time in America," where the phone ringing transitions the entire film.

(This is getting to be quite a list! lol)

"Denise Calls Up" (from the nineties)

~~
Jim Hutton: talented gorgeous hot hunk; adorable as ElleryQueen; SEXIEST ACTOR EVER

"I Saw What You Did (And I Know Who You Are)"
The original is from 1965 (Joan Crawford has a supporting role), and there's a good TV remake from 1988 with both Robert and David Carradine.

"Portrait in Black" (1960) has some important calls in it.

Oh, boy, I caught this thread way late! (2012)
(Wish I could have helped sooner.)
I've seen the others mentioned, but nobody considered
Speed (initial contacts were by telephone),
and also The Matrix plus The Matrix Reloaded
(after all, they teleported through the phone when a quick escape was needed.)
There might be others, but they escape me at present.

How about the most obvious one: "The Story of Alexander Graham Bell"

i agree on: "The Slender Thread," ....very underrated flick takes place entirely on the phone, find it, watch it

Ya still wondering? Hahahaha.

"Collateral."

New Year's Evil (1980)

Possibly Fail-Safe (w/Henry Fonda), but I'm not sure, as I only have seen bits and snatches of it over the years.
