Completely missed supposed homosexual vibe
The thought never entered my head. Not even an inkling. Then I watched "Rope Unleashed" and they discussed "it" as a big part of the movie.

I got the impression that the killers were gay lovers. Still, I think that this isn't the most important part of the story. In fact, it's quite irrelevant.

It was more nuanced because of the censorship laws of the time and I can understand if it can be missed.

It was most noticeable in the beginning. You could hear it in the tone of their voice, and how close they stood to each other. If you have seen a lot of hitchcock films you will see how he portrays characters and their relationships. There is a lot of tension.
share...and the way that they talked about visiting each other's parents, etc.
They sounded like a married couple who visit each other's parents on a regular basis.
Still, I don't think that this is really the most important part of the film.

One of the more subtle hints is the musical piece played by Granger on the piano several times during the film; it's called Mouvement Perpétuel No. 1 by Francis Poulenc, who was a homosexual composer.
