Boring

How could a film starring Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney be so dry and boring? I kept looking to see how much time was left in the movie. It's not their fault, they are terrific in "Laura" and "Where the Sidewalk Ends." But this was sooo slow with no tension until the last 20 minutes.
