Was 'GONE WITH THE WIND' a remake?

I saw this on TCM the other day and I enjoyed it a lot Rex Harriosn was great...There was a lot of common point in this movie with Gone with the wind, I wondered if this movie was inspired

I believe gone with the wind came out in the 30s.

This movie was based on one of my favorite books. While this one was just okay, it never quite came up to par with the book. In fact, it was very second-class compared to the book. I was disappointed.
