I like this movie and I really like the cast;

always liked Conway and am a big Raft fan !

Ava is strikingly beautiful...and Victor is a great character actor though subdued mostly in this flic.Plus one has a noirish situation and Bates is one fine actress ~

Agree mostly. Except Raft is sort of flat. Maybe he felt the character was like that, withdrawn and kind of bitter toward the world.

It's good to see that Florence Bates could play characters from this social sphere well. I always identify as the rich dowager lady she plays in 'Rebecca.'
