The cattle that fell of the ridge

Decent movie although a little uncomfortable watching the cattle fall off of the high ridge. Did this involve some camera trickery to create the illusion or was it a sacrifice for entertainment? Hope it's the former.

I did wonder the same thing about the falling cattle scenes. If it was just camera trickery or even a fake cow carcasses, it was brilliantly done. But I'm just not sure myself of the circumstances.
