There are a couple of scenes early in this film that suggest there is a relationship between Hamid and Mrs. Hilda Courtney.
This relationship, however, is never fully developed or explained as the film progresses. It is dropped from the plot line.
Has anyone else noticed this?
We at least could gather that Cording's character had a thing for her. Whether or not she felt the same way is entirely up to speculation
shareI think that Hamid would like to have a relationship with Hilda. He gets jealous when Stinky holds her in an embrace.
Also I interpret Hamid get jealous with Colonel Cavanaugh. Hamid grabs the book inscribed by Hilda from the colonel. The colonel calls Hamid a fool who is reaching for a star. So I assume that the star that Hamid so desperately wants is Hilda. I doubt that Hilda would have ever been interested in Hamid.
