partially censored scene

I just read a review of the recent DVD release, but there seems to be a partially censored scene: "In this DVD version Margot only runs over her victim once. Perhaps Warner Home Video and the owner of the rare print shown at the American Cinematheque can get together and restore this extra six or seven seconds of mind-blowing sadism."

Was this movie ever released on VHS with this scene complete?

Thanks.

Not only does my DVD version indeed include the censored scene, but the special feature of the DVD copy I own corroborated that and said that the TV version included the censored scene. My guess is that the VHS version included the censored scene.

You have to wonder what happened to Margo in her dirty little English mill town to make her so cold. Also, was she there during WWII?

While many, if not most, psychopaths seem to come from unstable families, modern science favours the view that psychopathy is caused by abnormalities in brain function that are innate (allegedly, most psychopaths show signs of deviant behaviour already in a very early age). It appears there is no 100% consensus, however.

In the version I watched, she does run him over only once - and it's shown in such a way that we never see the victim as the car pushes forward... and there clearly isn't even any body under the car although it should be well visible once the car makes it far enough. It's quite unbelievable that a person could be killed by a vehicle that only had about two meters to gather speed before hitting him (he definitely wasn't run over by the tyres).

The version shown on TCM October 19, 2016 only shows him being run over once.

TCM does not show cut movies. She only ran over him once. The entire car, tires and all, rolled over him. She got out and ran back to the body, lying on the road.
