Anybody seen 'Teufel in Seide'?

Does anybody know the movie "Teufel in Seide" (transl. "Devil wears Silk") (Germany 1956) with Lilli Palmer? It is almost exactly the same film, even with many details, but with an other writer. The writer of "Leave Her..." is Ben Ames Williams, the writer of "Teufel..." is Gina Kaus. She already published her novel under the title "Der Teufel nebenan" (transl. "The Devil next door") in 1940, that means some years before "Leave Her...". She worked for a time in Hollywood, I think due to emigration after 1933. But what is the connection between these two authors that led to the obvious similarity of these films, although the latter one is no "remake", but names its own author?
