What is the hit film, "Laura," really all about?

All right, Gubbio, I give in . . . I can't take another day of this . . . so, yes your entreaties cannot be resisted . . . I cannot go on playing any further games with you . . . so here goes:

What is the hit Fox film, Laura, really all about?

1. The murder of Diane Redfern.

2. How Laura is being protected so she won't be charged with the murder.

3. How Waldo, to protect Laura, sacrifices himself at the end for her sake (he had nothing to do with the killing of Diane, whom, I don't believe, he ever knew).

4. Was Diane pregnant? Did Shelby give her the expensive cigarette case to get money for an abortion (Waldo's detectives found it in a pawn shop)? That sort of thing was not permissible in films back in the '40s, and even today would be highly controversial. You'd have to add to the story: why would Shelby & Laua want Diane out of the way. No, she wasn't going to have an abortion. Shelby & Laura had to act. McPherson told Laura she was surrounded by a bunch of dopes.

That's what this movie is "really" all about . . . yes, the work is layered and does take time to analyze . . . yes . . .

Any further question unanswered? One. What Waldo's detectives dug up and what they fully knew . . .

Anymore questions Gubbio?

I'm so glad you finally explained your thoughts on the plot of the movie. Now it's clear you were either not paying attention or have a hard time making sense of the things you see and hear. There's no point trying to help you understand what you so obviously cannot. Good luck to you!

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
