Wow, I didn't know Herman Munster was in this

Glenn Strange's Frankenstein monster in this film looks exactly like Herman from The Munsters. Am I the only one who sees this?

Obviously the Universal Frankenstein movies came first, so it would be more correct to say that Herman Munster looks exactly like Glenn Strange's Frankenstein monster. The monster makeup used in the later Frankenstein films was a little cheaper and easier to put on than the make-up used in the Boris Karloff films. Specifically, they used this cheaper and easier-to-apply make-up for The Munsters.

The Munsters was made by Universal, so they owned the rights to the Frankenstein's monster designs from the Universal monster movies.

I was just surprised at how much Fred Gwynne looked like Glenn Strange in the makeup. Not just the general design and makeup, but their facial structure is incredibly similar.

Yes, you're the only one because Herman is able to speak and the monster here does not

I never thought so. Check out Strange who appeared on the long running television series Gunsmoke as Sam the bartender. Gwynn appeared on the sitcom Car 54 Where Are You? from the early 1960's.
