Lon Chaney Jr. was lucky!

He got to play more of the classic Universal monsters than anyone else. He of course played The Wolfman (his best role), Frankenstein's Monster (in Ghost of Frankenstein), Count Dracula (or possibly his son, in this film), and Kharis the Mummy (in the final three Mummy films). I feel like he gets overshadowed by Karloff and Lugosi but in my opinion he should be considered one of the great classic horror icons just like them.

I agree completely with that statement.

good eye. well i agree as far as "the wolf man" being overshadowed by dracula and frankenstein, the wolf man might just be my favorite universal monster classic, but after that lon chaney jr played in sequels while lugosi and karloff were starring in the famous originals, and lon chaney jr is more fitting as a regular joe having this dreadful curse brought on him. about this particular piece though, right off here a title like "son of" gives a turkey vibe, to be followed by the name dracula reversed, really? i'm reminded of the ed wood scenario, a bit of dialogue seemed added on later, my first impression was that the cast would forget to reverse the name dracula or get it wrong, having subtitles on i began to get distracted by all names reading them backwards to see what they said. this ran a bit longer than usually the monster flicks from this period does. notice about an hour in as the man and woman is in the same shot and you see his hand rubbing against his throat, i thought it was her who had a hand like a fella. i must agree with others on this board, lon chaney jr comes off as a huge miscast here, again, he was so suitable in the role of the wolf man playing this regular joe being cursed by turning into a wolf man / werewolf, a regular joe type of fella does not fit in the role of dracula... or should i say alucard... / yours truly, retep.

rag from dusty attic,
rusty lock she picked,
threw it on started walkin around,
until dust blew off began shine,
on hill walkin a puddle of mud with her now,
as a seam on the rag was i.
