Fritz Lang's Version is superior

Douglas Sirk aka Detlev Sierck is actually one of my favorite movie directors, but I was disappointed with "Hitler's Madman".
Couldn't help comparing it with Fritz Lang's version from 1943 which is definitely the better one.

Watch the other version with Brian Donlevy, "Hangman also die" (1943) which is far superior and where the Czech resistance kills Heydrich.
It's on TCM at least once a year and you could check every 3 months if it's scheduled (it's not scheduled right now):

The setting is different in the two films. In this one the action takes place in a hard-up little town with people struggling to buy food. Lang's is in swish city surroundings. It's strange the different approaches to the story the two films make in the same year.
