I believe I have seen all of Brennan's performances. Imagine winning an Oscar every couple of years! WOW!

So, no it isn't strange. I don't even associate this triple-Oscar actor with John Wayne.

Thanks to my film buff father, I knew all about Walter Brennan since my childhood in the Fifties. My father told me all about his career that came long before "The Real McCoys".

He even had four hit records=} I'm not sure he ever released an album considering how often he sang in movies.

Not strange at all. Very versatile actor

I didn't even recognise him here. The man had range. He can almost completely transform from one movie to another.

No hint of the hammy hick character here.

And very strange not playing an American! But didn't recognize him, except, of course, the voice. I found it a bit of weird casting, but it's good to see someone was willing to take a chance. I suppose wartime conditions played a hand.
