Plot Hole [Spoilers!]

Jim Hardy had Holiday Inn opened on holidays only, so he could spend the rest of the 350 days of the year with a great big valise to books to read being lazy.

However, his floor shows were indeed elaborate, expensive affairs, taking weeks, even months to prepare, with lots and lots of hard, hard work!

So much for Jim wanting to be lazy most of the year through....

Not to mention the logistics of managing temporary help and arranging food services.

Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

😃 Believe it or not, just now I was instinctively looking for the "like" button!

This was a documentary about operating a resort? Shoot, all these years I've been watching it thinking it was a light musical comedy!

I actually didn't take it as a plot hole. I'd have to watch the movie again to hear the actual lines but my understanding is after the 'lazy' sequence, we get the idea that maybe all that laziness wasn't Jim's cup of tea. the reason he quit, I think, is he was tired and uninspired and that little break not only gave him a rest but inspired him to perform or put on a show again. Only this time it was on his terms and his schedule with little travel needed. He pretty much went from Broadway star to small community theater and it made him happier having the best of both worlds.
