I watched Bambi when I was 8 and it scarred me for life.

I am now 26 and still can't bring myself to watch it again. I just can't. Parents are so worried about violence or sex on TV... let me tell you something: The death of a parent is far more traumatizing to an 8 yr-old, than watching someone get his eye drilled off in some horror film. I just think it's funny how we've grown up with these seemingly "innocent" films, that turned out to be a lot darker than anything shown today. This is rated G? Funny. But show any hint of sexual activity (kissing/ implied sex scenes), or profanity, or minimal violence and that's a no no.

I was 30, too, and I think it still scarred me for life. When I get to the end and see the whole cycle starting over again I kind of want to go off and kill myself.

I'm almost 58 and just lost my last remaining parent and these last two months have changed my outlook on things. It is traumatizing at any age if you were close to that parent and shared love between you (not everyone is that lucky)

I saw Bambi over 50 years ago. I choose to never watch it again. Disney was pretty manipulative with children's emotions. How about the scene when Dumbo in tears has to leave his mother chained in a cage?

Last night, I had a dream involving that harrowing sequence where Bambi and his Mum are running away from the huntsman. I can't remember the last time I watched the film itself but it does show just how ... engraved that scene is in my mind ... :(

"Your times over, *beep*. We're cummin to get ya".
