Help finding a film with a similar opening.

The Wolf Man begins with a book being taken off of a shelf by an unforeseen character. We then flip through the pages to a passage that sets up the film. I am almost certain that there was another classic black and white horror film ( possibly a silent one) that began in a similar manner ( though in my memory the book floated off the shelf and opened to the camera). Does anyone know what this film I'm thinking of my be? Does it even exist or am I just thinking of this film and nothing else?

the only similar scene of a floating book i can think of is the twilight zone season four episode "the bard", it is early in the episode and of course it is black and white, speaking of the opening to this though, what a weird intro for a movie, it looks like that of a tv series, this has quite the cast, another extraordinary thing is how far down the credits the obvious lead is. after seeing all the goofy sequels where they pair up monsters in the same movie one of them made me feel like checking this out again, as much as i like the other universal monsters, there is something about larry talbot, he's this harmless regular guy who suddenly suffers this dreadful curse and goes through all this agony and torment (let's just say you don't get this vibe from frankenstein), and this later werewolf movie is so superior the earlier versions which were actually made at the same time as the other universal monsters like dracula, frankenstein, the invisible man and the mummy, and this is the one featured along them in the dvd box of monsters along with the much later creature from the black lagoon and the phantom of the opera which i always thought stood out from the rest. ever since i first experienced these classic monsters as a teen when the first edition of the dvd box got released the wolf man became my definitive favorite, it's not as iconic as frankenstein or dracula, so perhaps in a sense it's okey to use the word underrated, or overlooked in compare to those, since then a double dvd feature of the wolf man has been released with great bonus material and a half hour documentary about lon chaney jr.
