I loved Una Merkel in this movie!! It really added so much for Dorothy Lamour to have a "pal" just like the boys had each other. I wish Una had been in other Road movies, she was one of the best comediennes in films.
shareI was kinda indifferent to this sentiment until I checked Una Merkel's imdb profile and realised she's Verbena from The Parent Trap! I loved her! She was so funny. I don't think Road to Zanzibar used her to her full potential though, so yeah, it would have been great to see her in more of the Road movies and give her more to do. She would have been great.
shareUna Merkel would have been good as a regular of the Road series. I am just making my own discovery of this comedienne. As well as Zanzibar I have seen her in '42nd Street' and 'The Bank Dick' just lately. She should be more well known for her great comic supporting roles.
