Baby Mine Don't You Cry...

Aww! I wish I wouldn't cry! Every time I see this part in the movie tears come to my eyes! Does any one else cry? I mean poor Dumbo's mother is in jail and when he sees her this song is played... It is so Beautiful! The beautiful relationship between a mother and her child... Aww I'm gonna CRY! :-(

it's one of the disney's cutest scenes I guess!

awww It is sooo sweet and sad. You really did feel for them - I mean look at them. I find it very hard not to look at that picture without getting a lump in my throat. (look at Mrs. Jumbo's eyes)

Bizarrely, the first time I ever saw this scene was as part of Steven Spielberg's multi-million dollar flop '1941'. Gen. 'Vinegar Joe' Stilwell (Robert Stack) is seen in tears along with the rest of the audience! 'Dumbo' was released in October 1941 so it's possible.

I love that song. I always get misty eyed when watching that scene in Dumbo.
It's upsetting that the animals around Dumbo are sleeping with their mothers and fathers while dumbo sits on her trunk getting rocked side to side.
My mama used to do the same thing. *crying*

You're not the only ones who gets choked up watching that scene. My wife and I do whenever we have watched the film. You want to talk about maternal instincts, my wife's mother instincts are, on scale of one to ten, a definate number ten! She loves babies so much, I can't even begin to describe it.

I don't blame Mrs. Jumbo for whacking that stupid kid for making fun of Dumbo. God as my witness, being a parent myself, I would have done the same thing. Only worse. I would have literally stomped a mudhole in that kid's rear end. Stomped him hard.

reply

haha. I don't blame Ms. Jumbo either. I wanted to beat that little sh*ts face in when he blew into Dumbo's ear.

Oh god! I know what everyone on this post means! I cry every time I see this scene, especiall when Mrs. Jumbo starts rocking Dumbo with her trunk.

reply

Okay, I've never even seen this movie, and I was just looking through my Disney Song Book, and started playing this song. Well, I looked up this movie, and just reading the posts about this part made me cry really hard... I went and hugged my mom.

No, I'm just wondering why you are so pathetically needy for attention that you would attempt to spoil the mood in this discussion.
