Any way to see this film?

Any ideas welcomed.
The asian torrent service mentioned in other thread is invitation only and the YouTube link has been shut down. I'm not at all opposed to buying a dvd or vhs if anyone knows of a source.

Hulu+

Honestly, it's completely worth the subscription. They've got so many films from Mizoguchi, Kurosawa, Ozu, Kobayashi, and other great classic directors that it makes hunting down seedless, broken torrents seem like a waste of time. They've got a free trial as far as I know, so you could just cram a ton of movies for a few weeks and then cancel before the first billing period.

Hope that helps!

It's on TCM on June 24, 2013, at 2:30 a.m. EDT.

Wow. Thanks for this info. What timing. I just contacted two DVD rental places and both didn't have it and I had almost given up ever seeing this highly regarded movie.

I stayed up all night waiting to finally see this film and it was worth it! What a powerful story, and very fine acting. However, the ending seems particularly bittersweet.

Sounds worth it. I was recording it and intended to do the responsible thing and go to bed before it started running, but then made the mistake of watching the first few minutes, which of course ended up as the first hour and 40 minutes or so before I finally lost consciousness after 3 a.m. Central. What an idiot. I mean, it was _recording_ and I couldn't leave it alone.

I don't know if this was because of the original script or the translation, but whichever it was, the screenplay seemed like it could've been written yesterday. This was, IMHO, _not_ one of those older films that makes you have a lot of patience with the stiltedness or artificiality of the script. So far, at least.

On tonight, TCM...just a reminder...

I saw it this afternoon at the Eleanor Bunin Munroe Film Center at Lincoln Center in Manhattan. I don't know how long it'll be playing. It seems to be an open-ended release. But it's definitely worth making a trip to Manhattan to see it if you can.
