World's Fair of 1939

That was the highlight of this boring so called "Classic"...they seem to throw that word around for every movie, good or bad, especially if it is an old one. That also goes for all these starlets, who may have made "B" movies and they get the title of Legend...check YOutube and see what I mean. I remember visiting that World's Fair in 1939 as a child and brought back fond memories of it. BTW, that parachute jump towards the end was so amateurishly done...very bad...of course, they didn't have CGI at that time.

yes, incredibly boring, nothing happens for goodness sake, classic is now also used for movies from the 1980s, took me a while to get used to. i only recognise one actor, i mostly recognise david niven from later in his career when he starred in comedies, like one of those "herbie" car movies i think it was, by the way, this is a romantic comedy, according to me just the worst sort of genre, i usually like old movies, but apparently "rom coms" have always been just nonsense crap. a bit unusual for a movie of this time to have such a big cast of actresses, and notice the huge settings, and that's the biggest fence i've ever seen, and the boys boxing looked funny, their gloves looked huge on them. since this is in public domain i guess it pops up every here and there, like "night of the living dead" being part in all sorts of collections, it also explains the picture and sound quality. anyway, it doesn't look like a cheap movie after all.
