using footage this movie was remade as a short called frontier days (1945) starring Robert Shayne in the Erroll Flynn part and Dorothy Malone In Olivia's part. the close ups feature Shayne but the long shots are Flynn and the other actors in Dodge City. In the short the charactors have different names

TV, like "Maverick", "Cheyenne", "Lawman", "Colt .45", "Sugerfoot" and others, used a lot of scenes from old WB films. Bits of the saloon fight from "Dodge City" show up in "Maverick" several times.
