The Greatest Film Score in the Universe Contest!!!

I personally love the score for alexander nevsky but I'd like to hear what you think. Let me know what score (please no soundtracks) you think deserves the title of "The Greatest Film Score in the Universe". I'm interested to see how many people on these forums care as much about this as I do.

Fargo and The Battle of Algiers have great scores, but the best score ever is probably featured in The Best of Youth. I think it was originally composed for Jules and Jim, but it works much better in the italian film, which is one of my favorites of the last decade.

I've long considered Alexander Nevsky the best.
Lieutenant Kije is also great (both by Prokofiev).

More recently Once Upon a Time in the West.

These are original scores.

Wonderful adaptations have been done in the films of Kubrick and Tarkovsky.

The score was arranged a year later and became a cantata. A very beautiful and powerful one, no doubt.
