Impressed with costumes and sets

The studio played big bucks with this film, considering it was the Depression. The plot was a little cheesy , in addition, I am not a big fan of opera. I have heard of Nelson and Jeanette all my life, they did have gifted vocals! This was my first screening of their films. I heard about their RL romance, you can feel the chemistry. I felt a little bad for Nicolai, but that does not justify him killing Paul. I assume she divorced her hubby after the murder. Wow any kids in the film still living are heading for their 90's now or are in their 90's. Beautiful camera work in the film as well.
