I just saw this on Svengoolie and the word sidekick never occurred to me. I thought they were both equally brilliant. It was really great seeing Bela Lugosi as a good guy for a change. They were both wonderful actors just watch them in The Body Snatchers and you'll see what I mean.

LOL Ed Wood is one of my favorite films, and as I watched The Invisible Ray on Svengoolie that line kept running through my head. And for the record, Bela was far from a sidekick in Invisible Ray. He was pretty darn good!

Lugosi's character was in charge in this story. Karloff was the one with the knowledge but he was being used.
