This version, or the remake?


Same old boring question, but Hitchcock himself said -

"the first is the work of a talented amateur and the second was made by a professional.”

They each have their own place though, they both have the things a good film needs - suspense, strong characters (some horribly nasty, some immediately nice), action, music, fights, guns, exotic locations, laughs...you guessed!...

I prefer this version. Although the antagonists in the remake were more sinister the deaths from the shootings made this darker.

A bird sings and the mountain's silence deepens.

I prefer this original version. It sustains the mystery just that much better.
