How realistic?

How realistic was this movie?- were women really allowed to fix up their cells so nice? They looked more like college dorm rooms than prison cells. And most of these prisoners looked like they just came from a beauty parlor with perfectly done hair- and they wore leather pumps in prison? And all this during the great depression?

Isn't it hilarious? My favorite was the rich woman in prison with the lap dog! Was there ever a prision that allowed pets? In the midst of the Great Depression, women would have been committing crimes like crazy to get in there.

I don't know - how difficult is it to get a crowbar into your cell?

LOL but that's probably easier than making a print of a key on a soap bar in your hand while the matron still holds the key ring completely oblivious as she stands in front of you.

This is why this film after 80 years is so much more entertaining then the garbage made now.

I love that she was released from prison wearing a luxurious fur stole. Also love that no time was added to her sentence even though she'd directly and critically aided an attempted prison break!!!

OMG, she walks into prison in a stole and asks for another dress? Mrs. Arlington with her dog in the prison? This script could probably be done by drag queens verbatim and come off hysterical.
