stop looking off to the side!

... through-out the first half of the film, Laughton looks off to the side.. he never faces the person to whom he is speaking... he seems to want to appear blind! (i know, he can't look people in the face, I get it.) but after a while, it got annoying. Interesting - the original writer seems to have also written "African Queen", also made into a film.
