The Passion of Joan of Arc vs. Donnie Darko

On one hand, we have one of cinema's all time gripping performances executed a midst the intensity of one of the most beautifully shot and yet jarringly tragic films of all time.

BUT

Donnie Darko was so out there! I mean, what does the ending REALLY mean?

Yeah, I'ma have to go with Donnie Darko. Plus the Smurfette part made me LOL!

reply

is this a joke?

reply

It must be. Donnie Darko was juvenile. The only people who like it are those who don't understand it and assume that therefore it must be really significant. It's not; it's DESIGNED to provoke that response, and it's designed to appeal to the "***k your parents" teenage crowd.

It has practically nothing in common with The Passion of Joan of Arc, aside from both of them having good cinematography.

Yes, this was a joke. It was a reference to another thread's shock that this film isn't in the top 250, and yet Donnie Darko is.

More young people use the internet than old people.

That should explain everything, I think...
