shareI would recommend this movie because its quite good.Part cinderella,featuring the wealth of the french courts,some swashbuckling,a slave galley, and all centering around attaining the love of Manon.What a beautiful woman Dolores Costello was,I've never seen a more lovely face in silent movies.
shareSomehow this early Vitaphone/late silent flew below my radar until yesterday's screening on TCM.
In addition to all the strengths listed by kerrydragon, this film boasts probably the scariest looking collection of actors I've ever seen playing tavern low-lifes and caged convicts (evidently turned cannibal!).
Yeah, the dudes in the cage, and the guy who roughs up Manon in the tavern, are proof that Neanderthals made it to the twentieth century.
