Sick Of The Vocal Minority

If five people get together and say a movie is really good, does that make it true? ABSOLUTLEY NOT!! I'm so sick of thesse movies getting such high raitings because a group of finatics get together and bully it to the top. A major reqresite of a movie being "GREAT" is that it is widley known and casts a great influence. Neither of theese hold true for this movie because so few people have seen it! No one has a chance for rebultle to the argument of a ten. I think IMDB needs to recalibrate its rating scale.

Calm the *beep* down, it's just a movie and a futile fan website. Stop making an ass out of yourself.

Then maybe people should make more of an effort to see great movies. If they don't it's their own fault.

I just like the look of the film, it's pretty cool-looking. German expressionism is cool.

If you would learn to spell then, perhaps, I could appreciate your criticism. It seems imdB panders to atrocious spellers.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

I saw this on a big screen some years ago and was blown away by it. I have always admired Murnau, but I think this was a magnificent telling of much told story. And the great Emil Jannings is a terrific Mefistopheles. Great stuff.

Man have you got your head so firmly up your own arse you could take a dump and eat breakfast at the same time. I hardly call this film "unknown" or that it does not cast great influence. You are quite simply an arrogant ignorant fool who clearly does not like the movie and wants to stir up trouble.

Now to address your "facts" considering this was considered a masterclass in film back when it was made in 1926 and that on a per capita basis more people went to the cinema 80 years ago than they did now, and the fact that it is now over 80 years old and still held in the highest critical praise I would hardly suggest that this film is a) unknown b) unseen.

Secondly if you do not think this film has not had a great and wide influence on the history of film I think you should clearly need to rewatch almost every damn supernatural/horror special effects laden film for the last 80 years!

In the end if anything needs recalibrating it is you!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to state the obvious, but anyone who hasn't seen a film and feels entitled to opine on said unseen film's merits based on what amounts to varying forms of hearsay... is a moron.

Faust is a great film, btw. Works on more than a few levels, etches unforgettable imagery on the mind's eye, and stands the test of time with an omni-relatable story.

Fight Club's another great film, I might even put it on par with this one just for the audacious mindscrew factor.

Shrek 2 was weak. Shrek 3, not even worth watching. Opt for the original, avoid the other two.

Faust is widely known and has had a profound effect on the medium of cinema....I don't get your point.
