I am 19 now. I first watched this movie when I was about 8 or 9 years old and ever since then, it has always been my second favorite silent film (only behind Nosferatu). I have been a fan of classic horror my entire life. I can't remember not being a fan of such things. My earliest memories come from watching reruns of the original Dark Shadows TV show with my father every morning. They don't make very much horror similar to classic films like this anymore which is sad because I feel they should. Most horror these days either focus on cheap, loud jump scares for 90 whole minutes or as much gore as possible. We need to go back to when horror was actually creepy, suspenseful, and atmospheric.

I'm 17 and I just saw this film last night. I loved it. I list it among one of the best films of the 1920's. The only ones that I'd say are better are Nosferatu and Battleship Potemkin.

My daughter is 15 and after some reluctance I eventually persuaded her to watch Nosferatu on Blu Ray. As hoped, she was blown away and now wants to watch Phantom of the Opera. I'm so glad these movies are still appreciated in these days of swishing cameras and cgi.

I`m 18 months old and Lon Chaney is the most interesting thing I have seen in this world thus far (although I also really like alcoholics and National Socialists). Will be keeping an eye on stuff though, maybe there`re more interesting things.

You seem very intelligent for an 18 month old.
