How did he age so quick?

So early in his career and before he started filming Rocketman in 2017, he looked quite young for his age, right? He probably looked 17-18 when he was actually 25, for example. But fast forward to 2019, he actually looks his age now?? lol. I know he had to shave his head and such for the role and that made him look a bit older even when his hair grown back, but still. Going from looking age 17 to 30 in a couple years. Is anybody else mind-blown with how quickly he's suddenly aging?
