Run, don't walk, to check out the show Firefly (2002). To call it a space western would be too reductive. Myself, and likely many others consider it one of, if not the greatest sci-fi shows ever. FOX made 14 episodes, of which only 11 aired, but the audience reaction was so strong post-cancellation, they ended up making a follow-up movie called Serenity (2005) that fairly satisfactorily took the place of a second season.

Two notes: FOX aired the shows out of order, which possibly some early box sets, and even IMDb itself retained. So make sure you look up the proper order to watch them. The pilot was (also) called "Serenity," but they aired "The Train

Second note: if you thought she was attractive in Fast Charlie, just wait 'til you see her in Firefly. She was also fantastic in the Deadpool movies.
