Just inn my humble opinion, I don't think it would be a step up role for her. She was just nominated for an academy award & from what I've read Rachel Weitz is the really big star here & would be looking for an academy award out of it. I do think she should go dramatic for her next role but maybe as the lead?
The movie Carol gave all attention to Cate blanchette & very little to Rooney Mara. It would certainly be a different type for. Her; an English,Orthodox Jewish
Woman who's a repressed lesbian.

Sorry Xcalet-. I did not read nor see your post until I wrote about my negative views on her making this movie. Unfortunately, it's not co-starring - it's a supporting role. Important character but second fiddle to Ms Weitz. My reply is above & I hope she doesn't take the role.

reply

Why do you hope she does not take this role???Only because she will play the second fiddle??? I understand she plays a strong role. If she plays an Orthodox Jewish woman it is a very interesting role for her imo.

reply

Sammy, yes --I don't think she should be 2nd fiddle in a movie at this stage of her career.

reply

I know what you mean but she will not be always playing the first fiddle in movies but I understand this role is still very important in the movie. I like her decisions taken recent years after she changed management and she plays various type of roles and for example does not afraid to play a lesbian role.

Awesome.

Anxiously waiting. She's been good in everything she's done so far. And, with Rachel Weisz? Wow! two of my favorite Rachels in the same movie... and as lovers! Imagine that! Wow!

Great! More Zionist gay propaganda to destroy the family.
